The ground breaking ceremony of the US $ 50 million Iconic Developments Limited’s, second project ‘Iconic Galaxy’ took place in Rajagiriya yesterday, with the presence of Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali
Champika Ranawake.
The apartment complex that is expected to be completed in 2020 is spread over two acres of land and consists of 261, super luxury two, three and four bedroom apartments.
With this launch, the iconic brand will collectively have built 433 apartments in the Jayewardenepura-Kotte suburb, having completed the US $ 30 million Iconic 110 Parliament Road, last year.
“Given the current booming real estate industry, we see a bright outlook for further development and expansion of our brand,” Iconic Developments, Managing Director Rohan Parikh told Mirror Business. He added that they are looking at a couple of developments in Colombo 3 and Colombo 5.
When asked about the uniqueness of this project he said, “We have specialised telescope on the roof top to view the stars, hanging gardens, we have seven floors of clubs, etc,.”
The seven hanging gardens will be named as; Topiary Maze, Zen Meditation garden, Tree grove, garden amphitheatre, children’s garden, fruit garden and fragrance garden.
“The prime location of Iconic Galaxy will make daily commuting easy for the dwellers. Proximity to work place, international schools, hospitals, shopping malls, super markets will surely lure many towards the residences,” he added.
Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawake said that they have identified Battaramulla as the administrative city of Sri Lanka where most of the government institutions will be set up.
“Now we are planning to have an elevated road connecting the existing expressway, from Dematagoda to Rajagiriya then to Battaramulla then to Kaduwela. We have also undertaken a new task to initiate Light Railway System with the help of the Japanese government. It is a US $ 1 billion project connecting Battaramulla to Colombo. And we will also have a multi-model transport hub in Battaramulla to facilitate all these new developments,” he said.
All facilities of Iconic Galaxy will be managed by JLL Lanka, the Sri Lankan arm of global corporation JLL.
