People’s Bank continued commemoration of its 60th anniversary by providing a new building and enhancing other facilities at the Rekeula Primary School in Polpithagama.
The new building and the other facility improvements within the Rekeula Primary School were completed by the Staff Welfare Association of International and Corporate Banking Division at a cost of approximately Rs.2 million.
The need for this initiative was identified as a critical requirement since the school lacked proper facilities and students were attending classes in huts. The new building provides a new opportunity for teachers and students alike by creating a pleasant environment with better facilities that is conducive to learning.
