Senior Vice President of GiveIndia (www.giveindia.org) for strategy and alliances, Vikas Puthran will be in Sri Lanka in July to address some key distinguished institutions, forums and individuals in sharing insight of GiveIndia’s 15-year long journey towards alleviating poverty in India.
Its journey though challenging, has raised Indian 2.5 billion Indian rupees and assisted over 400 not for profit organisations.
Puthran’s visit is hosted by Give2Lanka (www.give2lanka.org), which was launched in February 2016 as a national cause to replace Western funding for local charities and development work for not for profit organisations, which has significantly reduced due to Sri Lanka being termed a middle-income country.
Headed by Dulan de Silva, recently nominated an Honorary Fellow of the United National Friendship Organisation for his service to the nation, who has sacrificed his Chairmanship in Berendina to commence this journey, Give2Lanka has a distinguish board consisting of Lakmini Wijesundera, founder CEO of Iron One Technologies/Board Pac, Farida Lukmanjee, Director, Falco International and Zonta Club3, Prema Gamage a leading gender mainstreaming trainer, Akram Mukthar CEO/Director, Maxair and Roshan Bamberadeniya, its Executive Director and also CEO of Prudentia Infinity (Pvt.) Ltd.
Puthran will share knowledge and insight on good governance through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes by forming well managed alliances with ‘not for profit’ programmes, thereby enhancing corporate good governance practices including voluntary payroll giving. He will also share insight on how GiveIndia has leveraged on alliances in order to facilitate corporates to involve in a heightened volume of deserving causes without much overheads.
