At this week’s tea auction held on January 10, 2018, an invoice of BOPF from Ragalla Estate, Halgranoya secures a top price of Rs.710 per kilogramme in the Uda Pussellawa category.
This tea was purchased by M/S Akbar Brothers Ltd, which is a leading buyer of all regional teas. It was sold through the catalogue of M/S Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.
Ragalla Estate producers some of the best Uda Pussellawa region teas and is now amongst the best established marks on offer at the Colombo tea auctions.
Senior Group Manager Tharindu Wickremasinghe, who oversees the management of this estate, ensures a high standard of green leaf for manufacture and regularly monitors the quality at different stages of production.
The estate is managed by Maturata Plantations Ltd, the main holding company of which is Lanka Orix Leasing Company.
At this week’s tea auction held on January 9, 2018, an invoice of OP1 from Alma Estate, Kandapola, also achieved an all-time Colombo tea auction record price of Rs.840 per kilogramme in the Uda Pussellawa category.
This tea was purchased by M/S Basilur Teas (Pvt.) Ltd, which is a leading exporter of value-added teas to the international market and was sold through the catalogue of M/S Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.
Alma Factory manufacturers some of the best Uda Pussellawa region teas and is now amongst the best established marks on offer at the Colombo tea auctions.
Director Chula de Alwis oversees the management of this estate and ensures a high quality standard of manufacture and regularly monitors quality at different stages of production under the guidance of the incumbent Managing Director Ranjan Walpola.
The estate is managed by Nuwara Eliya Valley Plantations Ltd.
