Amãna Bank wins its 4th IFN accolade

Amãna Bank, Sri Lanka’s first and only licensed commercial bank operating according to the doctrines of Islamic banking, has triumphed once again at the world renowned Islamic Finance News (IFN) Awards Ceremony by claiming the coveted ‘Best Islamic Bank in Sri Lanka’ accolade.  The IFN Awards which are based on a global poll conducted in 2014 by the Malaysia-based RedMoney Group recognizes the best providers of Islamic financial services across the global markets which also include World's Best Islamic Bank, the Best Islamic Bank by Country, the Best Central Bank and the Best Islamic Banking Deals for the Year. 

The accolade was presented to the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Azmeer, at an awards ceremony held at the Shangri-la Hotel in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Commenting on receiving the Bank’s fourth IFN accolade, Mohamed Azmeer said “To be globally recognised as the country’s best Islamic financial services provider for four consecutive years is a great achievement for the Bank for which we are extremely happy. The IFN Polls takes an unbiased and all-encompassing approach in selecting the best banks in the world. Since its establishment in 2005, it continues to be the appropriate representation of the current Islamic financial market landscape and is the industry’s most comprehensive annual poll. Islamic finance issuers, investors, non-banking financial intermediaries and government bodies from around the world are invited to participate by casting their votes.
