The inaugural convocation of the Chartered Tax Advisor programme of the Faculty of Taxation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) was held recently where students who had completed the course were awarded the distinguished Chartered Tax Advisor status.
CA Sri Lanka President Arjuna Herath stated that over the years, the CA Sri Lanka Faculty of Taxation has made vast contributions by way of educating professionals on various tax-related issues.
“Since its establishment in 1995, the Faculty of Taxation has conducted numerous activities in its continuing efforts to educate professionals and members of the public on various issues and matters relating to tax. The Chartered Tax Advisor programme is also one such effort which aims to ensure that Sri Lanka possess skilled professionals who specialize in this important area,” he said.
CA Sri Lanka Faculty of Taxation Chairman Duminda Hulangamuwa noted that CA Sri Lanka has always been i n t he forefront in offering a multitude of recognized qualifications for the discerning professional and the Chartered Tax Advisor course was one such important initiative launched in 2012 for the benefit of tax practitioners who aspire to obtain a recognized professional qualification in taxation.
“Tax professionals have an important role to play in the development of any nation and as Chartered Tax Advisors, you are now equipped with the relevant skills to give leadership to other tax professionals while also sharing your insights on various taxationrelated matters relevant t o t he profession as well as the nation,” Hulangamuwa noted.
