Despite CHOGM, November tourist arrivals up only 3%

Tourist arrivals to the island grew only 2.8 percent in the month of November compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism showed.

Despite the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) being held in November, the month has recorded the slowest year-on-year growth rate fro any month in 2013.

The cumulative arrivals in the first 11 months rose 15 percent year-on-year surpassing 1 million tourists.
