Dynamic communication professionals behind SLIM Effie Awards 2014

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) has entrusted the organising of its hallmark event, the 2014 Effie Awards, to a group of diverse professionals from the marketing and advertising industries, each of whom brings distinct proficiencies to the table.The organising committee for the 2014 Effie Awards, Sri Lanka is especially unique i n its composition because of a special focus on the active involvement of the advertising and media industries.
Led for the second time by Leroy Ebert, Manager - Marketing and Business Development for Logiwiz NW (Pvt.) Ltd, the Organising Committee of the 2014 Effie Awards, Sri Lanka not only includes individuals holding key marketing positions in some of the country’s major corporates but also senior representatives from some of the leading advertising and media agencies.
Commenting on his team and their preparations for the 2014 Effie Awards, Project Chairman Leroy Ebert said, “I am truly honoured and excited to be working with such a talented and enthusiastic group of professionals. The Effie Awards are much anticipated among the local advertising and marketing fraternities and we wanted to ensure that this year’s event gives a truly global awards experience.
We, at SLIM, felt t here was no better way to ensure expectations are met and exceeded, than by facilitating an open dialogue with the participants by inviting key representatives t o be part of the event itself. With this dynamic group behind the Effies 2014, I have no doubt that this year’s awards ceremony will be the best to date.”All aspects of t he 2014 Effie Awards have been delegated t o five separate teams within the Organising Committee to guarantee efficient and optimal execution of all elements.
The Sales and Marketing team is headed by Chathura Ranasinghe, Brand Director – Grant McCann Erickson and supported by Meliza Cyril, Management Executive – JDC Printing Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd, S. Sivaharan, Media Manager – Phoenix Ogilvy and Sonal Fernando, Account Executive – Grant McCann Erickson.
All elements of the event to be held on 27 February, 2014 is handled by the team led by Sancharitha Jayathilake, Chief Operating Officer – Geometry Global, with the assistance of Vidhushi Rambukwella, Assistant Brand Manager – Pears, Unilever Sri Lanka Limited and Gayanee Jayaratne, Senior Marketing Executive – Central Finance Company PLC.PR and publications come under the purview of Manilka Philips, General Manager – Ogilvy Public Relations, who is working together with Althaf Jalaldeen, Assistant General Manager – Ogilvy Public Relations and Amali Fernando, Senior PR Executive – Ogilvy Public Relations.
Sujith Bombuwela, Assistant Marketing Manager – Ada Paper, Wijeya Newspapers Ltd will be heading the Sponsor Relations team along with Ajith Ushantha, Assistant Manager (Marketing) – Independent Television Network Ltd.Arvind Vijayaratnam, Assistant Manager – Devices, Etisalat Lanka (Private) Ltd is responsible for t he Operational Excellence of the organising committee and will be supported in his efforts by Lavanya Rajkobal, Assistant Manager – Channel Marketing, Fonterra Brands Lanka (Private) Limited and Sujiv Fonseka, Special Projects I mplementation Manager – Corporate Real Estate, HSBC Sri Lanka.
The Organising Committee for the 2014 Effie Awards is ably supported by Shiran Fonseka, Manager – Events and Ishara Sooriyaarachchi, Senior Officer – Events of the SLIM Secretariat.
