High interest shown for Ag-biz North exhibition in Killinochchi

The first ever agricultural exhibition to be held in a former war-torn city has been received with high enthusiasm, as all the exhibition space being sold out, a statement issued by Ceylon Chamber of Commerce noted.

The Ag-biz-North exhibition that will be held from July 26 to 28 at Central College grounds Killinochchi, is organized by the National Agri Business Council together with Practical Action and is endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Secretary of National Agri Business Council Rohitha Nanayakkara stated since all the stalls had been already booked, the organizers had to expand the number of stalls due to popular demand.

The total Ag-biz space includes input suppliers, financial institutions, agriculture department, animal production and health department, coconut cultivation board, Milco, NLDB etc.

According to the organizers, there will be an agriculture and animal clinic to instantly provide technical advice to farmers. A few major banks in the country are expected to assist the farmers with special loan schemes.
