Hunter & Co. divests land for Rs.253 mn

Hunters & Company PLC, the parent company of Lanka Canneries Ltd., announced recently that it had sold a land and buildings in Bankshall Street to Supemova Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd for Rs.253.5 million.

 


The extent of the land situated at Bankshall Street is 39 perches according t o t he company annual report, and was valued at Rs.214.5 million as at March 31, 2014.Further, according to the annual report 2013, Hunter and Company also owns 17-perch property at Front Street, Colombo 11 valued at Rs.136 million and also on T. B. Jayah Mawatha in Colombo 10 (1 Acre, 2 Roods and 5.5 perches) valued at Rs.1.47 billion.For the year ended March 31, 2014 the company posted a net profit of Rs.3.8 million as against a loss of Rs.10.9 million during the previous year, while revenue stood at Rs.2.4 billion in comparison to Rs.2.2 billion during 2013.The company posted earnings of 74 cents per share during the year under review.
