Jetwing Hotels hosts fourth edition of HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Resortwear in Galle

Jetwing Hotels is proud to be the Official Host Partner of HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) Resort 2016, which takes place from 27 September to 4 October 2015 in the historic city of Galle. Jetwing Hotels has partnered with CFW since the inception of its resortwear show, in 2012, and will come together to showcase leading designer talent on the runway and showcase the iconic Galle Fort as an important tourist destination.

This season, CFW Resort kicks off its anticipated runway shows with Day 1 at the charming Jetwing Lighthouse. A testament to the work of the legendary architect, Geoffrey Bawa, the Jetwing Lighthouse exudes an old world charm of elegance and minimalism. Known as the ultimate tropical retreat, Jetwing Lighthouse will provide a sophisticated setting for the showcasing of some of Sri Lanka’s most promising design talent.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Galle Fort was originally built by Portuguese colonists in 1620 and fortified by Dutch settlers in 1667. A landmark of Sri Lanka’s rich history and cultural diversity, the fort is home to many attractions of an intriguing blend of Western and Eastern influences. The Moon Bastion in the fort, where CFW will showcase the latest collections of 13 Sri Lankan and four international designers on Day 2 and Day 3 (2 and 3 October), will provide an extraordinary backdrop for a runway of international standards.

CFW will also showcase the fort, now buzzing with restaurants, cafés and retail boutiques, by presenting CFW Fashion+Food and CFW Retail Walk to provide an unparalleled culinary and shopping experience during the week of the shows (27 September to 4 October 2015). A new segment, CFW Frame, will present two exhibitions by Branka Ridicki and Dominic Sansoni on 2 October at Villa Landesi by Jetwing, Galle Fort. The season will also close with a chic resort-themed after-party, ‘Decked Out’, at the Jetwing Lighthouse.
