The Subway restaurant chain, the largest submarine sandwich chain in the world, will launch its first restaurant in Sri Lanka in 2014.
The leading quick-service restaurant (QSR) brand is committed to a rapid growth plan in the island nation and will see restaurants open across the country, giving legions of local entrepreneurs the opportunity to own and operate their own business.
“Sri Lanka is a growing market for food and beverages for consumers as well as entrepreneurs looking to foray into this sector. Subway is an opportunity to grow and expand in the restaurant business while serving people with high-quality products at valuefor-money prices,” said Subway Development (Pvt.) Ltd Sri Lanka Chairman Nathan Wills.
Known for its freshness, choice and customization the world-over, all Subway sandwiches are served on a variety of gourmet breads that are baked fresh in each restaurant throughout the day. Customers create their own sandwiches by choosing from a variety of lean meats, fresh vegetables, cheeses and low-fat condiments, while relishing the experience of the delicious meal being made right in front of them.
In addition to submarine sandwiches, Subway Restaurants also offer a variety of salads and breakfast options, including premium coffee at select restaurants. Subway adapts its menu according to the needs and demands of the operating market. The brand’s inherent appeal as a healthier restaurant chain and its global standing makes it attractive to customers and potential franchisees.
