An important caller from a palace in the city has, of late, become more-or-less a mentor to the Green party’s unhappy backbenchers.

This important caller who is said to be solicitous towards these, rebel Diyawanna politicos would inquire into their problems and those from outstations are invited to see him for a chat whenever they are in the city. He would also inform them that he is quite prepared to work with them with understanding.

The latest to get an invitation from the important caller is said to be a voluble one from Badulla. Several others from Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts too have received ‘goodwill’ calls from this mentor from the palace.

Some Green backbenchers have already decided to visit the palace in a bid to further strengthen the budding friendship.
