The much awaited Austrian bike brand KTM’s Duke 125 was launched recently in Sri Lanka by the David Pieris Motor Company (Pvt.) Ltd (DPMC) at Battaramulla and Jaffna KTM showrooms as well as dealer points in Matara, Kattankudy and Akkaraipattu.
With the introduction of KTM Duke 125, six KTM models including Duke 200, RC 200, Duke 250, Duke 390 and RC 390 are now available in Sri Lanka.
DPMC Vehicle Sales Divisional Manager Lakmal de Silva said that this will be the first performance-oriented 125cc motorcycle complete with a four stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel injection engine, in the country.
The Duke 125 is powered by a 124.7cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces 15PS of power and 12Nm of torque at 8000rpm.
The engine works in tandem with a six-speed transmission with an ability to speed from 0 to 100 in 16 seconds. Brakes include discs on both ends with single-channel ABS by Bosch with rear wheel sensing as a standard feature.
The rear tyre size of the bike is 150mm and comes with an electric start, mono rear shock absorbers, informative TFC digital speedometer, aluminium swing arms and attractive split seat.
He said the Duke 125 is available in three contemporary KTM colours variants.
“Most of features of KTM Duke 125 are available first time in Sri Lanka in this bike category,” Silva said.
The KTM Duke 125 packed with high-quality USD (upside-down) WP suspension. The mono shock absorber has a progressive spring, where pre-load is adjustable providing a well-balanced suspension. It has some serious style quotient, with the tank design being a show stealer.
The New Duke 125 comes with conventional naked street bike styling from KTM and is sure to make heads turn. The KTM Duke 125 also has extended stylised tank shrouds which are visible up to the headlights.
The fuel tank and the high quality cast along with other aesthetic features makes for a very impressive naked street bike.
Europe’s number-one racing bikes, the KTM, was introduced to Sri Lanka by the DPMC last year. Currently, two KTM showrooms operate in Battaramulla and Jaffna while KTM dealer showrooms are situated in Kattankudy, Akkaraipattu and Matara. An exclusive KTM servicing and repair workshops also operates at DPMC Hyde Park Corner, Akkaraipattu and Jaffna to provide aftersales service and technical expertise for the convenience of customers as well as 50 service dealers around the country.
