The SLIM open day for the Professional Certificate in Marketing (PCM) 2020 - 1st intake was held on a grand scale recently at the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management Auditorium. The event was graced by Stephanie Siriwardana and Randhir Witana as the Guest speakers and a large gathering of over 300 people including young executives, school leavers and youngsters working in different fields who aspire to better their lifestyles with a knowledge in marketing attended the event.
Professional Certificate in Marketing (PCM) is a stepping stone for Marketing Management that is designed for working and aspiring sales and marketing personnel. The programme focuses on developing and enhancing the qualities and skills of prospective students with the aim of educating them about the basic and fundamental theories of Marketing. The SLIM PCM is the ideal foundation for those students who wish to pursue a marketing related career, and for students who wish to gather marketing knowledge, which will be helpful for them in any field of study or career. Students who enroll for this 3 month certificate programme can complete the course at SLIM Business School Colombo, Kandy and Matara as well as island wide accredited study centres.

She quoted Marianne Williamson stating, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us”. Special guest Randhir Witana also shared his own life experience on a ‘never give up’ attitude and added to this inducement by emphasizing the significance of personal branding and honesty. People in the world look at how you perform while grading your authenticity. As long as you are honest and genuine, your personal branding will come out in a positive light. Sharing his personal experiences, he further stressed on the necessity of will power and self-motivation. “We should never give up no matter how many obstacles come upon us. The human mind is so amazing that it will push you to do anything when you know that you can make it,” he added.
