Continuing its efforts to provide the best possible support to cardholders through these trying times, SampathCards is offering 0% interest extended settlement plans on a wide range of essential expenses.
Sampath Mastercard, Visa Credit Cardholders and Sampath Bank American Express Credit Cardmembers can now avail 3 months 0% interest extended settlement plans on payments of Rs.2,500 or more made to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), Lanka Electricity Company (LECO) and National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) until 30th June 2020. The payments need to be made via the partner website, Sampath Automated Bill Settlement (SABS) facility, PayEasy.lk, Sampath WePay Mobile Application or directly at the partner location using Sampath Credit Cards.
Any payment of Rs.15,000 and above made to any educational institution, locally or internationally, until 30th June can be converted into 3 months 0% extended settlement plan.
6 months 0% extended settlement plans are on offer on credit card transactions of Rs.25,000 and above at any local insurance company until 31st July 2020.
Cardholders getting their vehicles serviced at Associated Motorways (Pvt) Ltd, Dimo Autolab and Toyota Lanka can avail 3 months 0% extended settlement plan on the vehicle service bills over Rs.15,000 until 31st August 2020.
On Healthcare, SampathCards is offering 3, 6 and 12 months 0% interest extended settlement plans on payments of Rs.25,000 and above at over 20 healthcare partners around the island until 31st December 2020. Furthermore, Sampath Mastercard and visa cardholders can enjoy up to 20% off on total bill & many more discounts at mymed.lk.
Making these payments in full using their Sampath Mastercard, Visa or Sampath Bank American Express credit cardholders can request for the extended settlement plans by simply calling 011 2 300 604 and providing the necessary transaction details within 14 days of the transaction date.
In-App Selfcare Features
In a bid to offer greater convenience to cardholders, SampathCards has included a host of selfcare features within the Sampath Bank app. Cardholders can now view the balance due on their Sampath Mastercard, Visa Credit Cards and Sampath Bank American Express Credit Cards and settle it using the funds in their Sampath Bank accounts through the app. They can also activate their credit card, reissue card PIN, block the card and change SMS / OTP mobile number, OTP email address and e-statement email address. Furthermore, they have the option of transferring outstanding balances from another credit card as well. With this, SampathCards has upgraded itself to enhance customer experience by offering such a wide range of in-app selfcare features for cardholders.
Considering the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, SampathCards had already implemented a series of measures to lessen the burden for its cardholders. The minimum payment due has been reduced to 2.5% of the statement outstanding, effective from the 5th April 2020 statement cycle onwards. Late payment charges will be waived off on all credit cards until 30th September 2020. The interest rate on local transactions up to a cumulative value of Rs. 50,000 has been reduced to 15% p.a. (i.e. 1.25% p.m.) commencing from the 24th March 2020 statement cycle.
