Air Force Sports Club pulled off another shocking win in the SLR League Rugby Tournament as they edged out Navy Sports Club 12-10 at Ratmalana today.

Air Force scored two tries, converting one against the two tries scored by Navy Sports Club.

Vimukthi Fernando opened the scoring for Air Force in the 12th minute of the match scoring an uncovered try to take a lead of 5-0.

However, Navy struck back with a try from senior campaigner Sajith Saranga to level the scores on 5-all after 30 minutes.

Navy seemed to have taken the control of the game around the hour mark when flanker Yoshitha Rajapaksa touched down their second try in the 57th minute to take a slim lead of 10-5.

But Air Force left it late to score the winner in the penultimate minute of the match when they sent Gimhana Silva over the line.

Meanwhile, in another match CH and FC defeated Army Sports Club by 33 (5 tries, 4 penalties) to 23 (3 tries, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) at Havelock Park today.

CH had a great start to the match when prop Ashan Darling barged over to open their account with an unconverted try after which Army hit back with a couple of penalties from Tharindu Madushan and try from Dhanushka Wijethilake to lead 11 -5.

However, CH came back strongly and secured their second win of the season courtesy of tries from Kushan Indunil, Hirantha Perera, Omalka Gunarathne and Mohamed Abzal all of which were converted by Rohitha Rajapaksa.

Army had a late comeback to the game with their dynamic duo Dhanushka Thalwatte and Sudaraka Dikkumbura scoring but it was too late for them as CH seal a ten point win.
