Colombo, Dec. 12 (Daily Mirror) - Football Srilanka (FSL) is to build an International Level New Football Complex near Colombo.

Two suitable lands have already been proposed and with the intervention of Minister of Sports Harin Fernando, the suitable land will be selected, says FSL President Umar Jasver.

Apart from Sugathadasa Stadium Colombo and Racecourse Colombo, there is no International Level Football Stadium in the vicinity of Colombo.

Since other sports are also held in the two stadiums providing serious obstacles to conduct football matches and training, following representations made to the sports minister an agreement has been reached to allocate land.

FIFA has also agreed to provide related financial assistance for the construction of the football complex during the discussion held with the Sports Minister during a recent visit to Sri Lanka.

Since Sri Lanka is billed to host the 2025 SAFF 15th Edition, FSL says they will go all out to build a new football complex.
