Bangladesh Women edged-out Sri Lanka Women 2-0 in their AHF Women’s Junior Hockey Tournament second match worked off in Singapore on Tuesday.
This was an improved performance from the Lankans considering the fact that they were routed 0-6 by Chinese Taipei in the opening fixture on the previous day.
Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead at half time following a superb goal from Skipper Ritu Khanom shortly before the break.
After a close contest, Bangladesh completely sealed the match in their favour with Tarin Khushi scoring the second goal few minutes before the final whistle.
Sri Lanka will take on Singapore in their third match of the tournament today (12) after Wednesday’s rest day.
