Towhid Hridoy continued his batting prowess with his third century in the series as Bangladesh Under-19 recorded a comfortable 50-run win against Sri Lanka Under-19 in the fifth Youth ODI played at Chattogram yesterday (19).
Bangladesh Under-19 also made a 4-0 clean sweep after the first match was washed out due to bad weather.
Towhid cracked a quick-fire 102-ball 111 that included three boundaries and five sixes following his earlier contributions of 123 n.o, and 115 and was involved in three match-winning partnerships.
He was involved in a 69-run stand for the third-wicket with Prantik Nabil which was followed by a 100-run stand for the fourth-wicket with Parvez Hossain.
He also added a brief 47 runs for the seventh-wicket with Avishek Das which helped Bangladesh Under-19 to reach a formidable 283 for seven.
Sri Lanka Under-19 in their run chase suffered an early setback losing two quick wickets with just seven runs on the board.
However, Mohamed Shamaz and Ravindu Rashantha rescued the team with an 87-run stand for the third-wicket.
Ravindu who made a top score of 84, added 51 runs for the fourth-wicket with Skipper Nipun Dhananjaya.
But thereafter, Sri Lanka Under-19 lost wickets at regular intervals before they were eventually bowled out for 233 runs.
