Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Jaffna made a commanding total of 170 for the loss of eight wickets. Afif Hossain starred with the bat, scoring a 35-ball 54, while skipper Thisara Perera made 26 (13). For Galle, Wahab Riaz took three wickets for 37, while Nuwan Thushara chipped in with two.
Galle got off to a shaky start, losing two wickets in the second over. Skipper Kusal Mendis, however, had other plans as he staged a comeback, making a 45-ball 58, but with a lack of partners, he failed in his quest. Galle only managed 154/9 at the end of their allocated 20 overs. Binura Fernando was the pick of the bowlers for Jaffna with 3/20, while James Fuller and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth picked up two wickets each.
With the win, Jaffna has secured the second spot with 10 points, behind table-toppers Kandy Falcons. Galle sits at fourth with four points.
