48th Milo Schools Swimming and Aquatic Championship
The 48th Milo Schools Swimming and Aquatic Championships concluded at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium swimming pool yesterday saw defending champions in the boys and girls categories St. Joseph’s College Colombo win the Milo trophy for the 19th successive year and Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo retaining the title for yet another year while in the Mixed Schools segment saw Lyceum International School Wattala too retained the title.
The two champion schools had things their own way as they were way ahead of the other schools that followed them. St. Joseph’s ended up accumulating a massive 570 points while St. Peter’s College was in second place way behind with (317) points followed by Ananda College (299), Lyceum IS Wattala (299) and Trinity College (284.5).
In the girls category, Visakha Vidyalaya ended with (423) points followed by Mahamaya College Kandy (311), Ladies College (277), Lyceum International School Wattala (258), and Musaeus College (230).
Meanwhile in the Combined Schools (Mixed) category Lyceum IS dominated proceedings with four of their schools taking the first four slots with Lyceum IS Wattala coming out on top securing (557) points followed by Lyceum IS Gampaha (229), Stafford IS (152), Lyceum IS Panadura (120) and Asian IS (115).
