Five Sri Lankan juniors win second round matches

Five Sri Lankan junior players - two in the girls’ category and three in the boys’ - came out victorious in their second round matches of the ongoing ATF Under 14 Week 2 tennis tournament played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.

In the girls’ segment, Eliza Kahagalla and Yuhansa Peiris coasted to easy two sets to nil wins over their Indian counterparts Pruta Rao and Sanmita Harini while in the boys’ category Kubherane Mayoor, Nevan Kannangara and Bhishman Balaratnarajah recorded easy wins by the same margin against Thuvakar Sathiees of Sri Lanka, M. Dhanush of India and Prajeetreddy Madireddy also of India. The championship will be continued tomorrow.  (Shamil Amit)
