HFC, Wennappuwa Hockey Team

Holy Family Convent (HFC), Wennappuwa beat Sangamitta, Matale 4-0 in the 39th National School Games (NSG) Girls’ Hockey Tournament final played at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy.
Nipuni Ishara, who scored three goals, won the Best Player Award for the winners. The third goal was scored by Hasarali Nethprabha.
Earlier, HFC beat Seethadevi, Kandy 2-0 in the quarter-finals while in the semi-finals they beat President’s College, Nawala 2-0.
Meanwhile, Sangamitta beat Musaeus 2-0 in the quarter-inals while in the semi-finals they got the better of Bishop’s College 2-0.
President’s College, Nawala beat Bishop’s College 2-1 in the third-place playoff.
