Mar. 29 (Daily Mirror) - Half tons by Kavindu Gayathra, Krishan Eranga and Vishwa Lahiru were the highlights of the first days play in the 72nd Battle of the Golds Big Match between traditional rivals Sri Sumangala College, Panadura and Moratu MV played at the De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa today.
Their batting helped Sri Sumangala taking first lease of the wicket to make 282 for nine declared which included two partnerships with Krishan Eranga and Duranka Silva.
The pair took the side off to a flying start with Kavindu Gayathra and Neksha Iddamalgoda sharing a stand of 50 runs for the fifth wicket.
Moratu MV facing 15 overs ended the day on 23 for one.
