The Nestle Nestomalt Half-Marathon conducted by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the All-Island School Games was held at Dambulla.
J. Mikirhan of Puwasenkulam MV came out as the winner in the Boys’ half-marathon followed by J. Vidushan of Muththiyankandu Tamil MV and D. M. I. D. W. Gamage of Welimada MMV in second and third place respectively.
The half-marathon (21km) event saw the participation of over 300 runners from the provinces around the island.
The Nestle Nestomalt marathon is a much looked forward to event, which has been held for more than three decades.
