Only seven matches were completed as rain marred proceedings on day three of the Astoria Women’s Futures Week-2 Tennis Tournament which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo on Friday (13).
Out of the completed matches top seed Gozal Ainitdinova of Kazakhstan along with the fourth seed Rutuja Bhosale of India and the unseeded Aldila Sutjiadi (India) and YeXin Ma (China) advanced into the quarter-finals.

Sri Lanka’s Adithya Karunaratne went down fighting against the top seed Gozal Ainidinova of Kazakhstan in the Astoria Women’s Futures Week-2 Tennis Tournament first-round match played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path on Thursday (12).
Gozal, who did not participate in the Week-1 Tournament was given some anxious moments and was made to pull out all the tricks out of the bag before pulling off victory.
