CBL Foods International (Pvt) Ltd has decided to sponsor the 2023 Inter Schools Athletic Relay Carnival for the first time.
Ritzbury has been sponsoring the Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletic Championship and Junior Tarbat Athletic Championship, which are considered two of the most important school athletic tournaments in the Sri Lankan school athletic calendar, but this is the first time the Relay Carnival has been sponsored.
The Schools Relay Carnival 2023 is organised jointly by the Ministry of Education and Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA).
The Schools Athletics Relay Carnival will be held on June 24, 25 and 26 at Mahinda Rajapaksha Sports Complex, Diyagama.
Applications for the tournament close on May 27.
There are five age groups in the Relay Canival namely U-12,U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-20 boys and girls.
According to the 2023 tournament calendar prepared by SLSAA, the Ministry of Education has approved to hold the 91st Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletics Championship on September 13-16 at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo and the 52nd Junior Tarbat Athletic Championship on November 3-5 at the Mahinda Rajapakhsa Sports Complex.
