Jevahn Sathasivam will play for the Sri Lanka ‘B’ Team 


 

The four-team Sri Lanka outfit for the 133rd Sri Lanka Open Amateur Championship teed off yesterday at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) Course with the Ladies’ event taking place from November 6 to 8.

This is the oldest amateur tournament outside the United Kingdom and has attracted some top class golfers around the Asian region.

Chalitha Pushpika and Chanaka Perera will play for the Sri Lanka ‘A’ while 16-year-old Asian International Schoolboys Jevahn Sathasivam and P. D. S. U. Kumara will play for the Sri Lanka ‘B’ Team. 

The majority of players from India and Pakistan will tee off in this event, which will run across for five days.

The Net first-round winner and the runners-up will win the Illankoon Cup while the Sri Lanka Golf Union Trophy will be awarded to the best aggregate net winner and runners-up. 

Meanwhile, the team event winners and the runners-up will receive the Dudley 

Senanayake Cup.

The final will take place on November 10 with a 36-hole event.
