Skipper Dasun Shanaka continued his good batting form in the ongoing SLC Invitational T20 cricket tournament when he slammed an unbeaten 55 runs in just 22 balls which, along with a useful contribution from Kamil Mishara, helped the SLC Greys record a four-run win on Duckworth/Lewis over the SLC Greens at the Pallekele International Stadium yesterday.
The match was called off early due to bad weather when SLC Greens, chasing 138 runs for victory, were on 69 for 3 having faced 5.3 overs, which was four runs short of the required score at that stage.
The SLC Greys chalked up their fourth successive win and kept their unbeaten record intact. The match got off to a late start due to a slight drizzle and was curtailed to ten overs a side.
SLC Greys invited to take first lease of the wicket ended with an imposing score of 137 for 3, on the back of an unbroken 94-run partnership in only 32 balls for the fourth wicket between Shanaka and Mishara.
Mishara was just as quick as Shanaka with his runs, scoring 46 in 24 balls Today is a rest day with just one match down for decision tomorrow between the unbeaten SLC Greys and SLC Reds scheduled to be played from 7.00 p.m. onwards.
