Colombo, Jan. 24 (Daily Mirror) - Three Sri Lankans Dinara de Silva in the girls category along with Vichinthya Nilaweera and Methwan Wijemanne in the boy’s category made their way to book semi- final berths of the ongoing ITF Junior Circuit Week1 tennis tournament by coming out victorious in the quarter-final encounters played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.
De Silva and Nilaweera recorded easy two sets to nil win over Guyan Yuchi of China and Ringi Yang of Hong Kong while Wijemanne had to pull out all the tricks out of the bag before overcoming Ivan Timofeev by two sets to one in a match that went to the wire which lasted nearly three hours.The trio in the run up to the semi-finals saw de Silva overcoming Nonoka Shimizu of Japan, Wijemanne getting the better of Yash Panchaxari of India and Nilaweera succeeding in a cliff hanger against Roman Kulain of India.
The semi-final encounters are scheduled to be played tomorrow.

Boys' - Vichinthya Nilaweera (Sri Lanka) beat Ringi Yang (Hong Kong) 2-0 (6/3, 6/3). Methwan Wijemanne (Sri Lanka) beat Ivan Timofeev (Russia) 2-1 (3/6, 6/2, 6/0).
