20 new meet records including two Sri Lanka youth records were established at this four-day event, which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA).
Meanwhile, Sandun Kosala of Lyceum, Wattala and Dilni Rajapaksha also from Lyceum, Wattala were named as the Best Athletes in the Boys’ and Girls’ category respectively.
Kosala won the Under-20 Boys’ 110m hurdles with a performance of 14.10s while Dilni won the Under-16 Girls’ long jump with a performance of 6.12m.
St. Benedict’s College secured the runners-up place in the Boys’ overall championship with 77 points while Maris Stella College took third place with a tally of 74 points.
Meanwhile, A. Rathnayaka National School, Walala won second place in the Girls’ overall championship while Ave Maria Convent, Negombo took third place.
Maris Stella College and A. Rathnayake National School were selected as the Best Outstation Teams in the Boys’ and Girls’ Championship respectively.
In addition, St. Joseph Vaz and Lyceum, Wattala won the Relay Championships in the Boys’ and Girls’ category respectively.
