The second-phase of the fifth Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 Cricket Tournament will commence today at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium with one match down for decision between the unbeaten Galle Marvels and third placed Jaffna Kings at 7.30 p.m.
The two teams will be meeting for the second time with Galle Marvels led by Niroshan Dickwella coming out victorious with a last-ball win by five wickets and they followed it up with another close seven-run win over Colombo Strikers.
Jaffna Kings on the other hand, led by Charith Asalanka, came back in their second match when they recorded a thrilling last-ball win by four wickets over Dambulla Sixers in a high-scoring match.
Skipper Dickwella has been in top form and had success in both matches making 47 and 50 while the player to take note of will be Alex Hales who cracked 65 against the Jaffna Kings.
They will also be banking on Janith Liyanage, Sahan Arachchige and Isuru Udana - who made 52 against Colombo Strikers.Meanwhile, Jaffna Kings will depend on Avishka Fernando who is in top form having made 59 and a quick-fire 89 against Dambulla Sixers while much will be expected from Pathum Nissanka and Skipper Asalanka.
