Tamil Union clinched the Major Club Limited Over title with a comfortable 36-run win over Ragama CC, thanks to a five-wicket haul for leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay in the final played at P. Sara Stadium today.

Vandersay, supported by Dilum Sudeera and Pramod Madushan who together shared four wickets between them, helped Tamil Union to bowl out Ragama CC in pursuit of 182 runs for victory for a score of 145 runs.

Ragama CC in their run chase put themselves in a spot of bother as they collapsed to 90 for 5 in the 23rd over. The late batting was not able to make any impression as Vandersay and Sudeera combined to skittle them out for 145 runs.

Earlier in the day Tamil Union invited to take first lease of the wicket underwent some anxious moments as at the halfway stage of the innings they were struggling on 89 for 4 before a top knock of 47 by Santhush Gunatileke enabled them to end their innings with a modest score of 181 which they succeeded in defending.
