Market ends in green territory

Market ended in green territory today where positive returns were recorded in both benchmark indices. ASI gained 20.23 index points (0.43%) to close at 4,757.98 while sensitive MPI closed at 4,223.35, up 25.09 index points (0.60%). Market turnover was Rs.499.5mn.
John Keells Holdings recorded the top turnover of Rs.137.4mn followed by Vallibel One (Rs.55.5mn) and DFCC Bank (Rs.49.9mn). Several crossings were recorded in John Keells Holdings (two crossings of 133,000 shares at Rs.177.50 and 177.40 per share respectively), Aitken Spence Holdings (278,000 shares at Rs.109.00 per share) and DFCC Bank (257,290 shares at Rs.106.20 per share).
Orient Financial Services listed by an introduction today and traded heavily. The reference price per share of Orient Financial Services is Rs.14.00. The stock reached the high of Rs.30.00 during the day and closed at Rs.17.20, up Rs.3.20 (+22.86%).
Meanwhile, Vallibel One, John Keells Holdings and Free Lanka Capital Holdings were among the mostly traded stocks throughout the day.
Foreign participation was 40.2% of the total market activity. At the end of the day foreign investors were net sellers with a net outflow of Rs.20.6mn.
