The Sri Lanka Federation of University Women (SLFUW) is a distinguished non-governmental organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of university-educated women in Sri Lanka. Established in 1941, the SLFUW welcomes any woman graduate from a university recognized by the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). The federation has played a vital role in empowering women through its various initiatives and programs. I discovered the organization shortly after I returned to Sri Lanka upon completing my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Law in the UK, and I was introduced to the organization, by Mrs. Indra Puvimanasinghe. Intrigued by the federation's mission, I discovered its rich history and significant contributions to the empowerment of women in our country.
