Colombo, October 11 (Daily Mirror) -  Only 11 out of 31 politicians who held ministerial responsibilities in the previous government and lived in the government houses have vacated them, according to the Public Administration Ministry.

A top source said it never takes time to clear the process since a lot of formalities such as inventory taking needs to be completed.

The past governments used to assign houses in the Colombo city for the use of ministers. Asked about the policy of the new government, the source said it will be decided later.

The National People’s Power (NPP) which currently holds governmental power pledged ahead of the September 21 Presidential Election to curtail benefits of MPs, the former Presidents and their widows.
