As it celebrates 20 years in business, Laugfs continues to strengthen its position in the leisure sector with its second luxury beach resort, Anantaya Passekudah, soon to be launched along the beautiful east coast of Sri Lanka.

The resort is situated along the widest span of the beautiful sandy beaches of the Passekudah Bay, offering a picturesque view of the best of Sri Lanka’s tropical shores.

Laugfs entered the leisure sector in 2014 with the launch of its first luxury beach resort, Anantaya Resorts & Spa, in Chilaw under Laugfs Leisure Ltd.
Within the same year, the company began construction of the second hotel of the Anantaya chain, which is due to be launched early 2016, promising the infinite luxury, comfort, beauty and tranquillity that Anantaya is renowned for.

Anantaya Passekudah has been designed by a renowned international architectual firm, while maintaining the true character and charm of the local area, with its fishing villages and cottages made of locally available materials.

The resort has been created to resemble the traditional fishermen’s ‘wadiya’ with features such as the sloping thatched roofs, a common attribute of the local architecture, which has been used for public areas, restaurants and bars.

In keeping with Anantaya’s concept of infinity, every room of the hotel is also designed to offera breathtaking, infinite view of the magnificent sunrise over Passekudah Bay.

The resort also features five luxurious villas, each of which includes two or more bedrooms and a private plunge pool, together with the latest modern amenities and luxuries for an idyllic, tropical holiday. The resort also includes a unique specialty restaurant, built over a natural water body and a special fun pool for kids.

Excursions in and around the resort include snorkelling and scuba diving to explore the beautiful coral reefs of the East Coast, exciting boat rides to see pods of dolphins and whales that frequent the area, as well as many exhilarating water sports and activities.

Meanwhile, plans are underway for the next and possibly the largest project so far by Laugfs Leisure, situated along the south western coast at Waskadua. This hotel, which is still in its planning stage would consist of over 200 luxury rooms to cater to visitors on pleasure and business travel and would be specially designed to host large events such as conferences.
