Adventure season at the Earl’s Regency

Celebrating thirteen years of excellence, Kandy’s popular five star attraction Earl’s Regency Hotel is now ready with the festive season package to celebrate this Christmas and anniversary together.
Nestling in the sprawling Dumbara Valley, overlooking the lush Knuckles mountain range and the scintillating Mahaweli River, Earl’s Regency Hotel kicks off its seasonal splendour from Wednesday, 12 December with season opener ‘12/12/12 Night’.
The hotel under the new skipper Neroy Marso onboard, has seen quite a few new happenings and additions during the past six months. The latest to be is the addition of 30 new luxury rooms. Originally established with 86 rooms in 1999, the hotel has expanded later to its highend room capacity with six premium rooms, two premium plus, four suites and three mini suites.
‘The new 30 room wing will be ready by March 2013 and then the total number of rooms will be 134. With this new addition, we will be working towards speciality Indian Restaurant‘The Spice’, which will be ready before the end of this year’ Mr. Marso said.
The executive Chef of the hotel Wasantha Peiris said the ‘The Spice’ restaurant has already got its Indian speciality chef Balibir Singh.
‘The Indian Restaurant will serve authentic Indian cuisine, which will be the very first of its kind in Kandy. There was a huge demand for Indian food in Kandy, especially with the increase in Indian travellers to Kandy’ Wasantha said.
The seasonal splendour will continue after the 12/12/12 with the grand five course dinner with Regency Junior Club Christmas party on 15th December and Seasonal High Tea at Mount Batten Lounge on Sunday 16th 23rd and 30th.
Christmas BBQ Night and Christmas Eve Gala Dinner will be on 22 and 24 December at Far Pavilion. The Christmas Day lunch and dinner will also be at Far Pavilion. The price range from Rs. 2800/- to 3000/- .
Apart from the seasonal celebration, Earls Regency Hotel has introduced the Knuckles excursion programme through their naturalist Senani Pilapitiya.
‘One day excursion through Knuckles range starting from Ranwala, Corbett’s gap, Meemure and Hunnasgiriya is the most popular trip amongst Sri Lankan travellers’ Senansi said.
‘Explore Knuckles’ is the theme for his excursions and this will includes, trekking, 4x4 jeep safaris, touring to the ‘Forgotten Valley’ of Sri Lanka and night camping are some of the over night tours with Pilapitiya.
‘Apart from adventure tours, traditional tours to Kandy city round up, Botanical Gardens, Pinnawala, Tea Museum and tours to Udawatta Kele, Victoria and Randenigala and Mahiyangana are also quite popular with the Sri Lankan clientele’ GM Marso said.
Facilities available in the hotel comprise rooms of various designs and concepts. All guest rooms have private balconies, are luxuriously furnished and have IDD telephone, voice mail, satellite TV, Wi Fi facilities, a mini bar, personal safe lockers and a 24 hour room service. Popularly known for its excellent banqueting facilities, the hotel has the largest amongst the best in the Central Province. In recent years the hotel has had the distinction of hosting the best local and international conferences.
