The Kuhoo Yoga is an important yoga which gives mixed results from the conjunction or the association of the Moon and the Sun.
It is common knowledge that the Sun -Moon conjunction occurs when the Moon and the Sun are placed in the same Bhava or Rashi close to each other- a phenomenon that occurs on the Amawaka Tithi when the Moon is the final phase or about to enter the Krishna Paksha of the Lunar month.
The results the Sun – Moon conjunction produces depends largely on the House and the sign where the conjunction or the Kuhoo Yoga occurs. As the effects the Kuhoo Yoga vary depending on the sign where it occurs, let us first examine how it influences the natives of the 12 Lagnas first.
For the Aries native: Sun and the Moon are lords of the 5th Moolatrikona and the 4th quadrant. This being a Rajayoga producing conjunction, is a favourable yoga for the Aries native irrespective of where the yoga occurs.
For the Taurus native: Sun and the Moon are the lords of the 4th and the 3rd Houses. The results this combination produces greatly depends on the House where it occurs.
For the Gemini native: Two luminaries are the lords of the 3rd and the 2nd Houses. The results this conjunction produces depends on the House where it occurs.
For the Cancer native: Sun is the 2nd lord and the Moon is the Lagnadhipati. This yoga occurring in the 4th ,9th and the 11th Houses are very beneficial for the Cancer native. For, the yoga in the 9th House could bring prosperity, among other results, in the 10th House fame and career success and in the 11th House immense wealth.
For the Leo native: Sun is the Lagnadhipati and the Moon is the 12th lord. The Sun as the lord of the Ascendant and in Aries makes the native active, intelligent, powerful and ambitious. Moon is weak and powerless in the 12th House. However, the Moon would derive strength from a possible Adhi or Gaja-kesari yoga. Therefore, the results could be predicted only after studying the horoscope as a whole.
For the Virgo native: The two planets are the 12th and the 11th lords. The results depend on the House where the conjunction occurs.
For the Libra native: Sun is the 11th lord and the Moon the 10th lord. This is a favourable conjunction if it occurs in a good House like the 7th, 10th or the 11th House.
For the Scorpio: Sun is the 10th lord and the Moon is the 9th lord – a lord of a quadrant and a Moolatrikona, a combination that produces Rajayoga. Therefore, Kuhoo is generally a favourable yoga for the Scorpio native. In this regard, the student should remember that the Moon gets debilitated in the Scorpio sign and the yoga in the Lagna could produce bad results unless the Neecha status is cancelled out by a Neecha-bhanga yoga.
For the Sagittarius native: Sun is 9th lord and the Moon the 8th lord. The results this conjunction could produce vary depending on where it occurs.
For the Capricorn native: Sun is the 8th lord and the Moon the 7th lord. The results depend on the House and the sign where the conjunction occurs.
For the Aquarius native: Sun is the 7th lord and the Moon the 6th lord. The results depend on the House and the sign where the conjunction occurs.
For the Pisces native: Sun is the 6th lord and the Moon the 5th lord. The yoga occurring in the 2nd or 3rd House would produce beneficial results.
