The 11- party alliance today called for President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to form an interim government to face the current problems confronting the country.

Addressing a press conference, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa said an economic plan should be worked out with the consensus of all the parties representing people in Parliament. Afterwards, he said a new Cabinet should be appointed in terms of the Constitution to implement them.

The Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila said an election should be declared after the formation of an interim government. He charged that the government was planning to spend US $ 7 billion for debt servicing despite people being in hunger and darkness without electricity.

He said the government should stop debt repayment. (Kelum Bandara)

Each day is dangerous and if government does not work and does not do anything but destroys the country ..what a hell these people do? Where is our 2500 years proud history of wisdom; logics and proud heritage . It is so sad and so and to see the country is going down day by day . What a hell our academics; community leaders do now ? Why can't come up with some solutions ? Do you want people suffer more and more . For God sake speak out and come with a viable solution

The is zero confidence in Gota. He must go. The whole family has been the Irving non-stop. They must go. Even the University of Colombo “Chancellor” , that Muruttu thero will command more confidence. Have parliament pass some urgent constitutional amendments to removed the executive presidency, and allow a national government for now with no Rajapakses.
