143 drunken drivers arrested within 24 hours

About 143 drivers were arrested while driving under the influence of liquor within 24 hours ending 6 am today, police said.

They said 86 motorcyclist and 37 three-wheeler drivers were among those arrested.

They also said 1,631 drivers had been arrested so far since April 10 when the search operation was launched island wide to track down drunken drivers.
