PM agrees to amend 16 budget proposals

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe agreed to amend 16 budget proposals at a meeting with SLFP MPs today.

The amendments included the removal of 2 % tax on cash withdrawals between Rs. 1 million and Rs. 10 million and 3 % on cash withdrawals of more than Rs. 10 million.

The discussion was held at parliament complex today.

What FM presented was only a proposal. It is ok for tme PM and the president to amend it after reading the pulse of the nation.

In the first place 2percent charge was a stupid proposal that discourage people to deposit money in the bank. Also registration fee increase when formationnof companies too . ThT too will encourage people to do business without registering companies. FM want to make money bf I rope start businesses. There are more ways to generate income and FM had no clue.
