The Government Information Department said that 18 new secretaries have been appointed to ministries by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Charitha Herath was appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Media.
Dr. P.B Jayasundara will remain as the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and Planning despite speculation that he would be removed from duties.
