Eighteen students and a teacher were injured when school bus collided with a jeep and toppled near R.P.S. Junction in Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 this morning, Police said.
They said the bus driver had driven the bus ignoring the color lights and collided with the jeep.
The injured were rushed to the Colombo National Hospital and the bus driver had been arrested.(Sanath Desmond and Siri Mahabellana)

As long as the authorities take a lackadaisical towards maintaining law and order, there will be incidents like this, and it will get worse unless roads are policed 24/7, and errant drivers are fined or sent to courts

Bus Looks an indian vehicle. Unfortunately these indian vehicles seriously lacks safety features. Otherwise this accident should not cause such damage to the Bus. Most children must be with cut injuries because the Indian vehicles have sharp metal edges in its interior and Window glasses are not protective type.
