22 Indian fishermen were taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy along with six trawlers for illegally poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the Northern seas last night, the Navy said.
Navy spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said they had crossed into Sri Lankan waters despite having GPS facility in their trawlers.
The arrested fishermen were brought to the KKS harbour and are to be handed over to the fisheries authorities for legal action.
