Reckless driving by bus drivers resulting in accidents causing deaths and injuries is ever increasing and the authorities do nothing about it because fleets of busses are owned by politicians and top cops.

No weeks or month passes without accident in this beautiful island.. Why is it ? Drug addiction? Alcohol addiction? Careless driving Illegal driving Not following rules of roads? Why ?

Police there to check helmets, license, insurance, and issue penaltiesto collect money. Accidents are nothing new, innocent passengers are suffering. Speeding and racing on the roads, specially by those huge Leyland buses with noisy sirens. Issuing Driving licenses must be tougher and properly regulated, curbing bribaries to the examiners.

The problem is, that nobody seems to know the rules of driving here. Without, you can not call it driving, just some millions of stupid ants on the road and each and everyone does what he or she wants. That's not driving. In every western country Sri Lankans would not be allowed to drive a vehicle. SL has 32 times more dead people in road traffic then Germany and there you can drive on many highways as fast as your car can. And the police is doing nothing about it here. So why do the politicians nothing about it?

earlier it used to be the private buses that drive recklessly... now CTB also giving the private buses a run for their moneys worth....standards have gone to the dog...

There should be a system of reporting reckless driving with videos. Tge police should launch a mobile app and get people registered . Those who report these reckless drivers should be rewarded . We see thousands of traffic law violations by all kinds of vehicles. The police can even give sone reward money with the right informants. Once tge drivers know that someone may be watching you then they will be careful . They will be more careful if they are fined based on the reported violations.
