29 vehicles missing from Presidential Secretariat; President orders probe



It has been revealed that 29 vehicles from the 833 currently owned by the Presidential Secretariat are unaccounted for, the President’s Media Division said.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to launch an investigation into the matter.

President Dissanayake has further directed that luxury vehicles used by previous governments be reassigned exclusively for essential public services. 

Speaking at a media briefing held today (26) at Galle Face, the President's Private Secretary, Ananda Wijepala, voiced his disappointment over the misuse of government vehicles.
