300 anti SL protesters arrested

Tamil Nadu politician MP Thol Thirumavalan and three hundred of his supporters were arrested by the Chennai police a short while during an anti Sri Lanka protest.

The Tamil Nadu politician was deported to Chennai this morning by Sri Lankan Immigration officials after trying to attend the funeral of Parvathi Ammal, the mother of slain LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.

An effigy of the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa was also set on fire during the protest before the Indian police arrested the protesters. (Source: Indian Press)
