Nearly 43 fishermen and their ten trawlers held in Indian custody were handed over to the Sri Lanka Navy by the Indian Coast guard yesterday, police said.

These fishermen had gone out to sea from the fishing harbours of Dikwella, Gandara and Trincomaleein August, November and December last year.

The fishermen and their trawlers will be handed over to the Coordinating Office of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Department in Jaffna.
